Checkers is a longstanding and widely recognized board game, renowned for its strategic depth and simplicity. The primary objective involves capturing all of the opponent's checkers or blocking their potential moves to prevent any legal plays.

Gameplay mechanics require selecting a checker by clicking on it, followed by selecting the desired destination square. Moves are typically made diagonally into unoccupied spaces, with options for advancing either one step or executing a jump over an opponent's piece when positioned diagonally adjacent with an empty square immediately beyond.

Jumps serve as a key strategic element; when an enemy piece is located in an adjacent diagonal square and the opposite diagonal square is vacant, the player is compelled to make the jump, capturing the opponent's piece.

Advancing a checker to the farthest row on the opponent's side results in crowning, transforming the piece into a king. Kings gain enhanced mobility, allowing movement diagonally in both forward and backward directions, thereby introducing increased complexity to gameplay dynamics.
